Factory 292: Making Yak-1 Fighters

Who are these pilots who briefly walk across the screen in this film about the aircraft factory that produced the fighter plane (Yak-1) that Lily flew? Could it be Lily and Katie? At the time this film was made, in spring of 1942, their regiment was in Air Defence, guarding this factory and others like it. The video itself is fascinating. Even without understanding the language, you can see the immensity of the factory and the way everything is done by hand. People worked in pairs, intimately, with small tools and glue because, although the frame was metal, the wings were made of a single wooden piece covered with canvas.
